Who will win Stage 19?

Who will win Stage 19?

So the Tour is over, right? Very wrong… 200+km, 5 000+m of ascent and a treacherous descent to finish; as a last-throw-of-the-dice stage, today is perfect.

It all kicks off after a 70km roll-out with the Tourmalet – 17km at 9-10%… then the Col des Bordères (8.6km at 5.8%), and the hors categorie Col d’Aubisque, 16.6km at 4.9% but made up of two shorter, harder climbs:…Col du Soulor is next, 10 km at 8-9%, before short descent and the final climb of the Tour, and a mad, twisty 20km descent to the finish in Laruns.

Remember when it was all over at the Giro? This is the perfect stage for a full-on Froome, either by him or a Roglic/Dumoulin… they need to, they are not going to catch Thomas in the TT. Will they wait until the final climb? Probably, and then hope to maximise their advantage on the descent. Perfect for Froome, if he has come back from his bad patch the other day, and if he is allowed to by the team. It will probably require a top-five rider to attack Thomas, and Froome to go with him as a policeman. or will it… Can’t wait.

Oops… we haven’t named a name. Roglic for the win, with Froome on his wheel and the GC bunch a minute back, setting up a cracking TT tomorrow.
