Giro d’Italia Femminile Stage 7

Giro Rosa, Stage 7.

What a great day for Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, who finished second in Thursday’s brutal hillclimb time trial to Campo Moro, to move up to third overall just a single second off second, with three stages to come. Two of those are flat, but on Saturday the Giro Rosa finishes up the fabled Monte Zoncolan, the sort of climb where Ashleigh will thrive, and quite possibly move up a place. Maybe two, our patriotic sprit dreams… but to catch the reigning World Champion Annemie van Vleuten off guard on such an important stage will be hard; to do so by three minutes nigh-on impossible.
